NPSHa (Net Positive Suction Head Available)
The absolute pressure head at the pump suction, expressed in feet of fluid above the fluid's vapor pressure. NPSHa must exceed the pump's NPSHr (required) by a margin to avoid cavitation. NPSHa = atmospheric head − vapor pressure − suction-side friction ± static suction head.
